I have used both brands chips. I like the navionics for the fact it has more lakes on it, and the color contrast for different depths of water. That makes finding midlake structure much easier. It does ocasionally show me on shore. To solve it turn the unit off then on again, sometimes it takes a couple trys before it reads your location right. The navionics has less lakes but more and better detail. I can see owning both for the reasons stated. About twice a year I have to borrow my navionics chip out to friends in bass tourneys that don't have the lake map on their lake master.
