Pantlegger,

I have a friend with a 692 with a 23 Tempest (Jono, from this sight) on it, however he has a 150 Opti. Decent hole shot, but if I remember right he max's out around 5,000 RPM and mid-40's on a good day. Which quite frankly 48-49 is not uncommon for most 690 series if loaded like many people load them, and the hull isn't waxed, etc. Most days on average 48-51 is good performance out of that hull.

I can run the EFI 3500-4000 get decent economy and run 34-39 mph depending on waves, etc. and get a really nice ride out of that hull. Just seems to be a good balance between ride/performance/economy.

Odd though? I had a 690 with a 4 blade and the top end didn't seem to be hurt all that bad? I think Jeff Redig from this board has a 4 blade on his if I remember right? Jeff...if you read this chime in.

Curious, what did it cost you to upgrade to the Opti versus rebuild of EFI (assuming that's why you switched)..?
Send me a P.M. if you want. I appologize for delays, I only see the board about once/twice a week any more.

Best,

Mark
