Location: Sun Prairie, WI		Not sure what the differences are but there are oils for 2 stroke air cooled and 2 stroke water cooled. I would imagine the oil for the chainsaw was air cooled. May or may not have led to your problem. I would look at the oil can you were using and see what the applications are.
