A 5 year old tire (assuming no changing of tires and the 2005 rig sits on a 2005 trailer) will be ready for replacement regardless if the tread is good or not. The reason....dry rot. Over time the tire will start to develop cracks in between the treads, sometimes on the sidewall, etc which is a sign to replace them. So...If my assumption is correct, seeing the tire blow out would not be a surprise...it would be due to age...
