I'm sure others will chime in but to answer your question, a bent prop shaft IMO is the most likely "other type" of damage that can occur. How is the skeg?

B4 you buy it (if you can) take the boat to a dealer and have them go over the motor. They can check the prop shaft and also check the compression on the motor. If any of the cylinders are low in compression, repairing this problem will cost you more than replacing a propshaft.

I'd buy a good reconditioned prop b4 I'd buy new. Try calling North American Propeller in Wausau. 715.359.5264
