I bought a couple gallons of a marine primer that was specifically for aluminum. First I sanded the whole thing and then applied the primer. Then I bought a couple gallons of the khaki colored camo paint (from Gander Mountain but don't remember the brand). I painted it with a brush and applied 2 coats. Then I sprayed on my camo pattern last.
That was about 8 years ago and everything is holding up really well, other than chips here and there that can be touched up with spraypaint as needed.
