| About ten years ago we had a problem with an older Evinrude 25hp tiller. Intermitant power problems. On our week long trip to Canada, a day in, it went to the shop. Got it back two days later. I hit some rocks and it shut down, it would start but as soon as I would put it in gear and twist the throttle it would shut down. Figured it was a bent shaft. Took it to the shop and found out the problem was the fuel line on the motor was deteriorating(old) and pieces were getting stuck in the carb. Mech changed out the fuel line, removed the debri from the carb and no more trouble. Probably not the same problem you're having but it just goes to show you never know what the problem could be till you get the right guy looking at it and even then it make him a time or two to figure it out. | |
