Location: north central wisconsin | gopackgo, I would consider back dating your unit. Some of the updates for the unit you describe, made shallow water reading worse. I have lcx 25c and lcx 111's and had to back date both of them after installing the 1.9. I went back to 1.7 on one of them and 1.6 on the other. I have plenty of issues with them still, but they no longer flash when in shallow water like they used to. Lowrance technical support helped me out by sending out a backdate file for my units.
