Location: north west wisconsin		i have an older minnkota maxxium and the rope broke on me twice so I used aircraft cable I had enough room to put the u shaped cable clamps on to hold it seems to work alright the locking system dosent work as well as it used to but I jiggle the cable and it locks... small price to pay for the security of not being stuck with the trolling motor down!
For the pull handle I had to modify it a little to get the clamp to sit flush with the top
