Andy, if you want to switch to Opti oil just run your reservoir down as much as possible and then add the new oil to minimize mixing. There shouldn't be anything that's not compatible between the two oils. Most are made up of the same additives (but in different quantities and some quality), ash content, and any of the base oils: Group III, IV, V are compatible so all is good. I like Amsoil just because most of their products are blends of Group IV (PAO) and V (Esters) which after all the jargin gives me a cleaner burning oil with good protection.

I'm not familiar w/ Opti oil so I can't comment on it... Good luck with the new rig Andy.
