Thanks for all the advice! I just figured it was worth asking the question. I agree that it's not worth the risk running cheaper oil.

One last question, I didn't get an owners manual with my boat and don't know the specific oil I'm supposed to be running. Anyone know where I can find this out. I have a 1996 150 Mercury EFI.
