AMSOIL............I had a 91 40 horse johnson that ran noticably better with Ams vs Johnson oil.
A friend claims the same with his Mariner.
I have Merc oil in my current motor(Merc), but when I run low its getting filled back up with Amsoil.
It doesn't cost that much more and I do believe it perfoms better. Less smoke, better idle, full synthetic, etc...
I would stay away from the no name cheap stuff!!!
Ams or Merc why take a chance!
