Since it is a cable drive trolling motor the only adjustment that I know of is with your foot. It may take some getting used to, but the only way that trolling motor is going to move (unless you take your foot off the pedal) is when you move it. After time you'll get the feel of exactly how fast or slow to move the pedal, and eventually you will be able to simply feel where the boat is going.
