I rarely wash it... except for fishing in the rain or wiping up a stain or two with a wet rag.

What I've found works well for "perking up" matted down carpet is to use a larger shop vac (5 HP+) and a fine nozzle attachement. If you scrape the nozzle against the grain of the carpet it lifts it up real nice. Do this on a regular basis and you should be happy with the results.

Now... if someone could help me figure out how to clean up 1 gallon of licorice smelling fish scent that is NOT water soluable... I'd be forever grateful.
