Location: Eau Claire, WI | When I saw the add I was originally going to buy it to re-sell it, which is still a consideration.
In my heart I want one of those X190's in the worst way, this was a somewhat bittersweet purchase, but the economy right now had my wife and I thinking we should not spend the big $$ until our jobs are more stable. I was in the process of waiting for some news at work before I committed to a new boat when this one popped up. I work in construction and my wife in the mortgage business... Not the best place to be positioned at this time, we are both blessed to still be working at this time.
But we couldn't see going without some kind of boat for the season, I happened to be looking at T.J's boat on Walleye Central when this add was posted last weekend and when I saw it I knew I had to try to grab it.
The first caller told the guy he would take it, I talked to the guy 15 minutes later and got in second position. Don't know what happened to the first guy but I got a call late last night that if I was still interested that I was next in line. So after talking everything over with The Queen, I took three hours off of work and drove over this morning. Yeah... Mint might even be an understatement.
So the plan... run this rig for the 09 season and hope we both stay working and healthy. Keep squirreling away some nuts and debating over colors for a new X190.
This one will likely be available again around Sept. when the ducks start flying if the stock market starts coming back around and things start to break loose.
Sled...
you'll see this one at Herbie's this year, Cory and I are each with different partners this year so I'll be bringing this rig with me unless someone throws me an offer I can't refuse in the meantime.
Blind squirrel finds a nut type thing. I wasn't in the market for a 690 but couldn't pass this opportunity up. |
