Seriously - my 8 footer fits in easily and my 9' niagara river steelie rod even fits too, but barely. The 1650 is discontinued but the 1600 is actually the same boat basically(same length, beam, depth...), although there may be adjustments to storage space.. The front deck on the 1600 is a little smaller and has one less storage compartment too.
