Zach, check your tilt latch on the motor + make sure it locks in all the positions + stays locked; like Paul said it could be worn or something...someone on here is bound to know some way to fix it! Easy to check out of the water....[:sun:]

Just re-read your post...the tilt latch is located near the top of the motor near the clamp + should be on the right side...it will go up or down...w/ the tilt up grab the lower unit + try to pull the motor up...it should stay put in the lock position....then pull the tilt tab down + repeat...the motor should raise...let me know.
