If you have the owners manuals check them out first. I have a Merc 50 hp. and the manual made it easy. I think on mine there was a drain plug/hole left side of the shaft just maybe half way down (looking from the rear of the motor). Turn the motor to right, and tilt it up so that drain hole is on the bottom side of the lower unit. Remove the plug and drain! I put the plug back in, tilted down, and repeated the process a couple times just to make sure I had all the oil out. Replace the filter, and add as much new oil as called for.

I'm not sure if all motors are the same, but it was a piece of cake on mine. Either way, your manual should tell you how to do it step by step.
