Location: Hayward, WI		Maybe it's just me, but I like to hook stuff directly to the battery whenever I can. If nothing else, I at least want to hook stuff up to the fuse box and have it on it's own fuse. So, my recommendation would be to NOT hook the unit up to your lights. I have a cold and am a little foggy now...but wouldn't that also require your running lights to be on for the unit to work if you spliced into that wire?
