The power being applied up front is just one of the issues. Few if any front wheel drive vehicles are beefed up enough to handle towing anything significant: tranny, axles, diffs, brakes, auxillary tranny and engine cooling. I see that as being a bigger issue than the fact that the power goes to the front wheels, which to me is just a secondary problem.
