A counsole may take up some space but what space? If you have two guys fishing one is in the front and one is in the back, there isn't anybody fishing in the middle is there? I would not go back to a tiller for any reason I don't think. I hear the "tiller is more accurate for trolling" thing a bit but for the life of me I don't understand it. How sharp do you need to turn to make a tiller more accurate? I can turn my counsole on a dime and even then I can turn it so sharp that the lines on the inside of the turn are laying dead in the water.

I realize that a lot of people like tillers and that's fine, they must be nice also because they still sell a ton of them but I think sometimes the "benefits" of a tiller are way over rated.
