Subject: Merc 50HP 4Stroke Issue

Location: Chicago, IL		I have a 50hp Merc 4stroke that sputters and dies when the throttle is opened up. After this happens the motor will not start and needs to be pull started. The motor idles fine and runs okay at slow speeds but that is it. Also, I have a LMS 527 hooked up to the rear starting battery that shuts down when the motor is started and this is a relatively new development.

Does anyone have any advice or ideas as to what the issue might be?
