I use one but in a slightly unconventional way. Its mounted in the back of my gargae and I use it to pull my boat/trailer back in (ever so slightly uphill). Due to tight quarters I cant back the trailer in while hooked up to the truck. $65 on sale at pep boys and worth every penny. It's a 12 volt set up of course and in my situation I have a dedicated battery for my situation. Other power options are to plug in to your trailer coupler on your truck or into a cigarette lighter type outlet on either your boat or tow vehicle. They're a little slow but they DO work. Remember what Dad always said "work smarter not harder". Yes there is a back up manual crank option on every model I checked out.
