If you can, get it in to Ed Schilling in West Allis(Milwaukee). He is a Minn Kota and MotorGuide Service Center, and does excellant work. I agree with Steve that it could be that Toggle Switch. You could try to take it apart, and try to get one from your local hardware store, and see if that solves the problem. But I would call Ed, to see if he has one, and maybe have him check the whole motor out while it's there. He's really good, and fair.

It could also be the brushes in the motor are now gone, but that just doesn't seem to fit the symptoms as well as the switch. Does it work if you rap on the motor housing with a rubber hammer? If so, that could indicate loose or worn brushes.
