Location: minocqua, wi. | it's interesting about boats ... i really had seller's remorse when jeff drove away with that boat hooked up and there are things i'll never replace for some of it's utility ... but, the tuffy esox mag that i've replaced it with has been out ... mostly drowning leeches with the kids and has already made me really happy for moving into a smaller boat for what i use it for. it's the perfect boat for my use and i'm glad to have it and feel like i made a really smart decision .... looks great on the trailer, fishes great on the water, launches in very little water where i was restricted previously by size ... it's just a matter of rigging it to the things that i like ... i've put it into the wisconsin river at mcnaughton to fish that stretch up near the wooden bridge which is impossible in other rigs ... a few other lake x's that i couldn't launch but prefer to fish ... so, i love my exox magnum!
the motor mentioned above ... let's just say i was impressed! ... that 200 v-max was the most reliable and best performance outboard i've ever experienced and the toughest to part with. i have the merc 115 2+2 on my rig now ... it's scary fast ... there are operating things that i've learned that you just have to understand and get used to based on the motor design ... otherwise, all is good ... |
