I have an older 55pd ap. I have the bracket that allows me to put the transducer on the motor but my skeg does not go all the way to the nose. As far as the cord goes, I left enough slack for the motor to turn and put a tie strap just under the head to hold the cord. Never had any problems until my last outing when I lowered the motor into the water and couldn't figure out why my motor would not lock down. Duh, the cord was caught in the locking mechanism. Locator still works fine just scraped up the wire a little, Just a little electrical tape and I was good to go. Good Luck, wish I had the universal sonar.
