One other thing you might want to look at. Are you keeping the motor level when you idling? If you don't they have a tendency to "Load up". I have been running a 200 Merc for years(10) and will get more smoke than normal if I don't pay attention to the trim. Another thing is, you might want to run it periodically on a lake you can run at speed to blown out any of the junk building up it the cylinders. Just a thought. Pat
