I have a Yamaha Vmax 225 and a while back posted on a thread about a over-heat alarm going off. Well, I am going to have the water pump rebuilt and was wondering if anyone has done this themselves. It isn't that it is a whole lot of money to have it done, but anything I can save on repairs is worth another day on the water. I have a good mechanical ability, but there is just something unnerving about tearing the lower unit off of my motor. Anyone with any experience with this? The guy at Yamaha said that I should be able to do it myself, just looking for a little first hand knowledge. Thanks.
