I have the 2000 Merc. 4 stroke 75 hp. It's a Yammy power head as mentioned, I am not sure what year that changed. The 75 hp and the 90 hp are basically the same engine. I think the 115 is different as I believe it's a heavier engine, but don't quote me on that.

To answer your question, it's been a great engine for me. It runs on fumes and is quiet and dependable. As mentioned though, run some carb cleaner through it occasionally, always have fresh gas in it, and drain the carbs in the fall. I also use Stabil. If you don't pay attention to the gas, the carbs will gum up and it will cost you about $450 to get them cleaned. I drain my boat fuel tank in the fall and put the gas in my truck. I start out with fresh gas each spring.
