| I use to own a car dealership, I can assure you if you show true intent on buying a product "right now" they will gladly negotiate. A new general motors vehicle will roughly have 12% markup from list price to invoice price. From that there is roughly a 7% margine below invoice called "holdback" this is supposed to go to the dealer for booklets, promotionals, etc. on certain vehicles there are promotions from the manufacturer like 0% financing, or a rebate for buying outright. Now keep in mind, if you will be servicing with the dealer, be fair,so he can take care of you. profit is not a dirty word. you go to work everyday just like they do. in fact, most dealers donate a lot of money to organizations in the community. remember everyone wants a piece of the pie. fair should be on both sides of the deal.
P.S. some dealers charge a "doc fee" so know this before you make a offer as to how much that is. a lot of internet sellers put this on top of the final price, be carefull. | |
