| I have taken the foot pedal apart a few times to clean the contacts and put a little lube on them too.. not too hard to do. It's a matter of taking the springs off the bottom which hold the foot pedal in place...the foot pedal is basically on a rocker arm that when pressed, hits a bar that makes contact with the contact plate.
Once you tear one down and clean it, you will find it is a fairly simple design.
This is for a general cleaning... if you have bad contacts, it time to get a new pedal...and sometimes this is the case.
I'd try cleaning it first before going and purchasing a replacement..
