Got a 2006 Tuffy 1760 this spring and this is my first glass boat. Been having a great time with it and taking as much good care of it as possible. I have owned three boats in my life and this is the one I have really been looking forward to owning for a long time so naturally, you look after it very critically. Pulled up to a dock on Minnetonka today to grab a burger at the Tonka grill, tied off and put out some bumpers no problem... Went back to the dock after lunch, one boat behind mine on the same side of the dock and I wondered how they were able to fit into such a tight area??? Got home and was putting the boat back into the garage and noticed 2 deep scratches (gouges) on the gunnel cap of my boat? Immediatley thought of the docked rig behind mine. The scratches were lakeside, not dockside so where else would they have come from? Anyhow, does anyone know what the best way to deal with the scratches would be as far as how I can repair it? Can I just use a gelcoat repair, or how deep is too deep for that? I know it does not effect the performance of the boat, but hey, I want to keep her looking as good as possible as long as I can. Anyone with advice is welcome to chime in! Thanks.
