You said your battery has never needed recharging, I disagree. Although it will start your motor, and run your electronics, batterys need to be charged regularly. It is best if they are charged to full, rather than left alone at 80 or 70 or 60%. The motor doesn't charge them fully unless you are on a long run coming back, and even then, they probably won't be 100%.
