I have a 17 1/2 foot Smoker Craft with a 115 Mariner. I can troll down to 2.9 to 3.1 MPH at the slowest. This has been fine for Muskie fishing but is way to fast for Walleye and other fish. I do however spend 98% of my time on Muskies so it's not the end of the world to use my electric for eveything else. But it really sucks up the gas when I'm out for 5 or 6 hours trolling. Will a kicker get better gas millage? Can I get away with something smaller than a 10 hp 4 stroke? I was thinking of changing my prop but I dont think it will save much on gas. I have a 21 pitch prop now, would a 23 be better? Will spending more money on fishing finally push my wife over the edge? lol
