You could probably get by with the 40 amp breakers, If you don't go to full power, or run you batterys down too far. Yes, you can use fuses in place of the breaker. They sell the breakers at Fleet Farm, Gander Mountain, and Cabela's. You dealer should also have them.

After spending the dollars on the Terrovs, I'd go with the Circuit Breaker.
