Subject: maxing out horsepower


The boat I have currently has a 1998 Merc 115 hp on it and I am looking to upgrade to a new 115 Optimax. The boat is currently rated for a 135. The budget as of now is taking the 135 out of the equation. Will being slightly "underpowered" cause any damage to the motor.

To be honest, speed isnt all that important to me, and and I have been pleased with the performance out of the 115. I don't plan on reselling this boat anytime soon (or at all).
