i ran the 1760 GT tiller last year and highly recommend it. it's w-i-d-e open: tons of storage and more fishable inch-for-inch than any boat in it's class.
the Magnum is a great boat, but i think the 1760 is every bit as stable, offers nearly/extremely good access to the water, and has the added advantage of the deep-V hull which will help on those annual trips to bigger water.
my suggestion would be to pair it with a 75hp Merc Opti, this will give you plenty of low-end punch to get up on plane and run at speed under a full load.

it's a matter of choosing between good and good. enjoy!
