it sounds to me like either the brush plate is cracked[it happens in shipping] or that you have a bad armature.we have seen both of these issues several times in the past year.have your tec guy pull the armature and test the lobes for continuity.it's very easy to find a dead spot.the brush plate will need to come out and be inspected for damage.they may look good while they are installed but the back could be cracked from a severe blow while in shipping which is not detectable until removed.minnkota will cover these fixes under warranty.
