Parallel Bateries. Pos to Pos, Neg to Neg.

As for why not a two bank charger and not separating them? If one battery is fully charged, all the current would go to the other. If you have a 15 amp charger, that would result in the one battery getting 30 amps.

I am not positive, but I think Guest and ProMariner suggest separating the batteries when in paraallel. I will look into it.
