My first question would be "Is there a need for the connectors?"

Are they fuse holders or are they just there to splice the wires together?

If you can get the trolling motor to work by moving the connection then I would assume there is a bad connection. If you were to remove the connectors and simpley touch the wires together does the trolling motor work then?
