You might want to consider bedliner in place of the diamond matting. Herculiner would work very good for this application, it's very durable very nonslip and will last much longer. We used Herculiner on some of our fire trucks for this purpose and it is holding up very well. It would cost about 50.00 for a gallon and you could use it for many other things as well. I used some on my trailer on the tongue so it is non-slip as well.
