Yes and no, The Lowrance on my last boat would resd at a full speed of 57MPH BUT, That's like 1 ping for every 40 feet of travel. You won't see fish or be able to tell much about bottom content but you may be able to keep tabs on depth with a very good transducer setup. Ducer placement is critical to getting any reading at all as bubbles or excessive turbulence will give you a fuzzy screen. If you want to be able to tell what you are looking at 20MPH or less is more realistic.
