Location: Elk River, Minnesota | I would maybe suggest trying a 13-1/2 x 17 pitch ballistic prop. It will potentially spin as fast or potentially FASTER than your stock aluminum (I found that on my 90 yamaha). it will definitely hook up better and the boat will respond to trim more. Plus...you probably can move the motor up a hole or two on the transom, which will give you even more RPM's. As expected, though, stay within the RPM range of the motor when loaded normally. I believe you get to go to 6000 rpm?
