Just a suggestion but rather than having someone try to figure out how to make it just right, why not just order it from Ranger? They have the templates and you can be sure it will be a tight fit the way you want it without having to give up your boat for any period of time.

I had a custom cover from Aurora, widely thought of as the best in the bass boat world. It was a nice design but it was made from Sunbrella material. Sunbrella is nice and light and fairly durable but it doesn't stay waterproof for very long, especially if it spends any time in the sun. I had to spray it every season with 303 after the second year. It took nearly 2/3 of a gal. to do it and a gal. costs approx. $80. The fabric Ranger uses is the lightest I've seen but there is a comparable fabric that is much heavier available from the local shops called Top Gun. I would pick this stuff if I had to source locally.
