Mike I have a 250 Merc XS on my 620. I love it! What helped me make the decision was the big block show down article in bass and walleye boat magazine. It out performed all other engines in all catagories. The only 250 that did not participate I believe was the Evinrude. They declined to participate. So I had no info on that motor really. We have had my 620 up into the mid 60's and the fuel economy is awesome for a motor of that size. Hope this helps.
