The Maxxums IMHO, are hands down the BEST trolling motor on the market! I would say they are by far, hands down the most reliable day in and day out trolling motors on the market. But they do have there downfalls, always having to have your foot on the pedal and having your leg at the same angle for multiple hours/days in a row can be fatiguing but if your after durability and reliablability, there is NO other trolling motor on the market that can come close to the Maxxum. Since they added the lift assist, it really does take literally half the work out of deploying and stowing that motor.

So in other words, if a cable driven trolling motor is going to work for you, I would HIGHLY suggst this motor, there isn't anything out there that can beat it!

Oh, did I mention I have had no problems with mine and I'm now going on season nine or ten with it. Only small remote problem I have had was when line got caught in the propeller and broke a seal where water got in the head. But that was my fault, not the motors fault.
