I would take a serious look at a boat that will get you away from the crowds, by fishing shallow rivers for muskies. That's what I'm doing this year in this jet boat which you can get for less than 14k and you're not buying something used. This model is 17' with a bottom width of 52". Real stable platform for multiple fishermen and I have used it on lakes around my home, one of which is over 2000 acres and it handles the waves just fine.
