Subject: circuit breakers


My manual for the 55PD shows to hook it right up to the battery. A sticker on the wires tells I should use a 50 amp manual resetable circuit breaker. What might happen if I DON'T??? And, why do they suggest a manual one versus an auto-reset? Old transom Endura I just hooked right up to the deep cycle and naver have had a problem. Never wired in a fuse or breaker. Thanks.
