although i own one and i'm happy with it ... ranger certainly is not the end-all in boats. if you go to the south where the bass-boat is king and all year around is the style for most you'll not only find happy ranger owners, but die-hard skeeter, bass cat, champion (of old), cobra and others. skeeters are a great boat, just not quite as well known in the northern regions. for 7 grand less and especially if you like the layout, you won't be disappointed ... and it's bound to have a yami strapped on the back which is a bonus! ... that was a nice way to say something nice about a merc ... (loaded with sarcasm there)
