Subject: deck for a bow mount electric

Bought a bench-seat 16' aluminum this spring and after one season, I know i will have to go to a bow mount electric vs my transom one. Any suggestions would be appreciated for adding one to a boat that has no forward 'upper deck', if you could call it that. What product would hold up the best, how thick it should be...I don't have a clue yet as to how long a shaft will be needed to reach the water by the bow. What do you attach the 'wood' to the gunnel with, and, here's a good one, the gunnel's top edge may not be parallel with the wood deck. What would one use to 'fill in' the difference. Thanks a bunch, Bruce.
